Privacy Policy

• Account details: your name and email address. You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google, Microsoft, Apple, or Facebook, in which case we receive your name and email from that provider.
• Your contributions: check-ins (status, optional note, optional photo), reviews and star ratings, "is this info accurate?" votes, saved chargers, and chargers or reports you submit.
• Points and badges you earn, and the number of check-ins you make.
• Location: only when you tap "Near me", "I'm here", or "My location". Your phone's location is used in your browser to center the map, drop a pin, or set a trip start. We do not keep a history of where you are. If you submit a charger, the charger's location is saved.
• Basic usage and technical data (such as pages visited and device type) collected by our hosting platform for analytics and security.

• Your check-ins and reviews show your first name only, with the time, status, note, and any photo you added.
• The leaderboard shows first names and counts.
• Your email address, last name, and account ID are not shown to other users.
• The site admin can see account details and the reports and submissions people send in, in order to run the service and keep the map accurate.

• To run the map, show contributions, award points, and compute charger reliability and ratings.
• To prevent abuse, for example by limiting how often one person can check in. This is kept privately and is not shown publicly.
• To send emails you need: sign-up verification, a welcome message, and, for chargers you save, alerts when a charger appears to go down or come back online. You can turn alerts off per charger on your profile.
• To improve PlugPH. We do not sell your personal information.

PlugPH uses other services, which receive some technical data (such as your IP address) when your device connects to them:

• Base44, which hosts the app and provides sign-in, the database, analytics, and email.
• OpenStreetMap (map images and place search) and a public routing service, used by the map and the trip planner. The places you type into the trip planner are sent to them.
• Open Charge Map, a community database, is the source of many charger listings (CC BY 4.0).
• Google Maps and Waze, only when you tap their buttons. You then leave PlugPH and their own policies apply.
• An AI service with web search that helps check charger listings. It receives charger details only, not information about users.

You can delete your account any time from your profile. This removes your profile, points, badges, saved chargers, reviews, and votes. Check-ins and photos you posted stay on the map so charger history is not lost, but they are relabeled "Former member". To have a specific photo or note removed, email us.

We aim to handle personal information in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, or object to how it is used. Email support@plugph.com and we will respond as soon as we can.

PlugPH is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top. Using PlugPH after a change means you accept the updated policy.
